What’s your favorite activity/hobby outside of work?

My favorite place to be is anywhere outdoors, especially in the ocean, being on the water makes me feel free and empowered. For the past few years, I have explored the springs of Florida on my stand-up paddle board. My most recent exploration was to paddle/swim with the manatees at Three Sisters Springs and Crystal Springs. Experiencing nature in this way is exciting and unique; it’s not something we get to do every day.

Favorite spot in or around Huntsville?

As a Huntsville native I have enjoyed watching downtown Huntsville grow into a thriving area with a variety of activities and places to go. Downtown Huntsville is full of life and one of my favorite spots to meet up with friends or family. I am thankful for the developers who chose to preserve local landmarks such as Lowe Mill, Lincoln Mill, Stove House and Campus 805, and repurpose them into vibrant spaces. I’m very proud of my hometown and the opportunities we have here to enjoy life to the fullest!

Who inspires you?

My mom was one of the most inspirational people in my life, always giving her all to every relationship and everything she set out to do, including raising me. Her pure drive, tenacity for life and her love of God was infectious and shaped me into the person I am today. It drove me crazy in my younger years, but as I got older and had a daughter of my own, I could see how hard she fought to provide generational wealth and all of the sudden clipping coupons and the saying “just give it to God” made so much sense. I cherish every memory we made and continue to be inspired by her legacy.
