Occupation: Center Sales Manager at Century BMW

What is your greatest achievement?
In September of 2020 I was promoted to Center Sales Manager at Century BMW and purchased my family home from my parents at the same time. The incredible honor of getting to take on this new opportunity in a position that my father held for so many years, and to simultaneously get to buy the home that was the source of so many wonderful memories for my family and I when I was growing up…. it was the culmination of what I’d been working towards for many years.
What is your all-time favorite Halloween costume?
A few years back I went to a Halloween Party at a friend’s house dressed as Ron Burgundy, Will Ferrell’s character from Anchorman. I really got into it, ordered the mustache and wig online, I happen to have a burgundy suit, and got a carton of milk and a bottle of scotch to take with me (if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll understand why these items are important to the costume, naturally). My sister Courtney is an extremely gifted hairstylist, so she helped me get the 70’s hairstyle just right on the wig. Somewhere on Facebook there’s a video of me in costume doing my best impression of some of my favorite lines from the movie.
What do you miss most about being a kid?
Life is much simpler when you’re a kid. I would spend so much time practicing my swing or my curveball for baseball, my jump shot in basketball, running miles and miles in preparation for track and cross country season, or just reading books for hours on end. I had the luxury of being able to focus on those things because my parents worked so hard to provide a good life for my sister and I. It’s kind of true what they say about youth being wasted on the young, because we never realize quite how good we had it until we’re much older.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
When the weather is nice, I like to go out to my back patio with a glass of bourbon or scotch and read a good book. The quiet calm helps me unwind from the day. Also, I enjoy hiking and going out to dinner and drinks with friends and driving around with the top down on my convertible on beautiful, sunny days.
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas would have to be my favorite. I just love the excitement of the season and the warm feeling you get in your heart when you get to celebrate such an important time of year with family and close friends. We have too many amazing traditions to list in my family when it comes to Christmas, and I love every single one of them. At work, my Co-Manager Ryan and I both love listening to Christmas music in our office and helping our team get into the Christmas spirit. I also love getting to celebrate at the Century Family Christmas Party, which has always been one of my favorite traditions since I was a kid.
What is something people may not know about you?
I love to make puns. Good ones, bad ones, it doesn’t matter. They just pop up in my mind and I love to say them. My team at work will usually humor me and laugh at them because they know it’s just one of those cheesy aspects of my personality that’ll never change. But, if I can spend at least a portion of my day putting a smile on someone’s face because of a corny joke, even if it’s at my own expense, then I’ll do it in a heartbeat.
What brings you the most joy?
Living my life with a sense of optimism and gratitude. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family, close friends, and an incredible career that challenges and fulfills me every day, with co-workers who truly feel like family to me. Plus, I get to live my life in one of the finest cities in the world, Huntsville. There aren’t a whole lot of people who get the privilege of having all that at my age, so I am immensely grateful, and I try to enjoy every single minute of it.
What’s your dream vacation destination?
To travel across Europe. Germany, Italy, France, the UK, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, you name it. I love cities with rich culture and history. I love to experience beautiful architecture from eras long past, which is why New Orleans and Charleston are two of my favorite cities to visit in the US.
