When you were little, what did you dream of being when you grew up?
Doctor – I always wanted to help people. I do that today but in a different capacity.
What circumstances or person helped shape you in your career?
My mom has always been a role model for me. I hit the jackpot when she gave birth to me. Having a loving mother and father who always support me is a gift that I treasure every day.
What do you love most about your job?
The flexibility in schedule and the variety of people I get to interact with every day.
What differentiates you from your peers or competitors?
I am direct and honest. Trying to communicate directly, but respectfully, about the marketability of a person’s home can be challenging. I try to give good feedback so that a seller can get the best return on investment when they get ready to sell it.
What’s your favorite thing about living in the Huntsville/Madison County area?
I love the mountains and the proximity to larger cities without being a big city—for now.
What civic organizations or nonprofits have you been involved with, and why have those been important to you?
The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS and the Junior League of Huntsville. I’ve served in leadership with both and learned so much about community and about myself.
What awards, accolades or accomplishments are you proudest of?
I ran and completed the Mountain Mist 50k Trail Run a few years ago and it was really hard to do. When I feel like I’m having a hard day, I try to remember the day I completed that run, and my perspective is adjusted.
What is your mission statement or your company’s mission statement?
Not sure if it’s my mission statement but my mantra is Taking Care of Business with Truth and Integrity.
How has the business community changed for women since you began your career?
There are more organizations to be involved with for women and leadership. But there’s still not enough support for women in business who need childcare. Much of my early success was because I had flexibility in my work schedule and the support from my family/workplace with my kids when they were younger.
