THE COMPANY is a Woman-Owned, Veteran-Owned business consulting firm. As THE COMPANY Founder and President, PeggyLee harnesses the true power of Huntsville’s synergy across government, industry, academia, nonprofit, and military enterprises to create measurable impacts for all involved.

Within Industry, THE COMPANY’s clients include both large and small businesses across Department of Defense and Commercial enterprises, within Huntsville and the D.C. area.

For Education, THE COMPANY is leading the development efforts in support of the Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering (ASCTE), America’s only high school focused on cyber resiliency in the engineering lifecycle.

Most importantly to PeggyLee, she is active in several nonprofits within the Huntsville community. She is on the Boards for Health Establishments At Local Schools (H.E.A.L.S.), Huntsville SOF Network, and Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy.

Mother of four incredible kiddos, PeggyLee has been with her husband, TJ Wright, for 27 years.

What circumstances helped shape you in your career?

My military service taught me so much about people, service to others, and the true meaning of leadership. I will never forget the beginning of my career and seeing the organizational chart of my commander. He had flipped it upside down, putting the soldiers at the very top of the organizational chart and putting himself at the very bottom. This served as a visual to remind all of us, what was truly important… it was all about the soldiers. Soldiers came first. That one visual has stuck with me for over 30 years and serves as a reminder to me in all aspects of my life. How am I serving my company and my clients? How am I serving my family? How am I serving my community? Am I putting others first?

How do the resources and business climate in the Huntsville area affect how your business operates?

Huntsville is uniquely special. Not many other cities can boast the kind of healthy enterprises that make up our town. There are five sectors that thrive in Huntsville: Industry (both DoD and Commercial), Academic Institutions, Government, Military, and Nonprofits. When these sectors work together, magic happens! This is what THE COMPANY does for our clients.

What awards, accolades or accomplishments are you proudest of?

This past November, I was one of the honorees for the WEDC Foundation’s Women Honoring Women. What an amazing group of women to be included with! Also, shortly after establishing THE COMPANY, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reached out and did an article on the work that THE COMPANY provides. But I admit, I am most proud of being able to do “all the things” that women are called on to do: We go to school, get degrees, have careers, get married, have children, put our careers on the back burner, raise our children to be productive citizens, and jump back into the workforce (or perhaps never left). We do all of this, and we are able to do so, because women are a force. That’s what I’m most proud of – my own personal evolution.
